How to use “〜ておく”?
- You can use it to express “do something in advance”.
Who + が + verb + ておく
- ドライブに行く前に、ガソリンを入れておく。
I will fill gasoline in the car before we go to drive.
- 友達が来るので、花を飾っておきます。
- I’ll decorate the flowers before my friends come because my friends are gonna be here.
- “Leave it as it is”
who + が + object + を + verb + ておく
- A: Let’s carry this luggage. (荷物を運びましょうか。)
B: Just leave it there cause it’s too heavy. (重いですから、そこに置いておいてください。)
- A: Turn off the TV. (テレビを消しましょうか。)
B: Just leave it cuz there is a program I wanna watch from 9:00. (9時から見たい番組があるんです。つけておいてください。)
