Valentine’s Day is getting closer. It must be thrilled and restless for those who are planning to declare your affection to “that boy/girl”. If you think that you’re going to be unconfident to convey your feelings directly, how about saying your words in Japanese?

Today I will introduce some declaration words of love in Japanese.

In Japanese, the followings are the most common but touching phrases to show love.

– 好きです/好きだ/好き (I love you)
su ki de su/su ki da/su ki

– 愛している (I love you (more formal version))
a i si te i lu

– ずっと好きでした (I have been loving you for so long)
zu to su ki de si ta

– 私と付き合ってください (Please go out with me)
wa ta shi to tsu ki a te ku da sai

– 僕の彼女になってください (Please be my girlfriend. (Of course, it could be converted into the opposite version))
bo ku no ka no jyo ni na te ku da sai

– 世界中の誰よりも〇〇が好きです (I love you more than anyone in the world)
se kai tyu no da re yo li mo 〇〇(name) ga su ki de su

– 好きになってくれるまで、俺頑張るから!(I’ll do my best till you love me!)
su ki ni na te ku re lu ma de, bo ku gan ba lu ka la !

– 明日からは彼氏として隣にいていいかな?(Can I stay with you tomorrow as your boyfriend?)
a si ta ka la wa ka le si to si te to na li ni i te i i ka na?
